The Chadar Trek is one of the most unique and thrilling adventures in the Himalayas. Every winter, the mighty Zanskar River freezes into a sheet of ice, creating a “Chadar” (blanket) that transforms into a natural trail for trekkers. Walking on this frozen river, surrounded by towering cliffs and snow-covered peaks, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The trek is suitable for adventure seekers with good physical fitness. Prior high-altitude trekking experience is recommended but not mandatory. Regular jogging, walking, and cardio workouts before the trek are strongly advised.
Arrive in Leh (11,400 ft), transfer to hotel, and rest for acclimatization.
Mandatory acclimatization walk and briefing; explore Leh Market and Shanti Stupa.
Drive to Tilad Do, begin trek on frozen Zanskar, camp at Gyalpo (~11 km).
Trek along icy gorges and frozen waterfalls, camp near Tibb Cave (~12 km).
Reach Nerak village and witness the iconic frozen Nerak waterfall (~12 km).
Retrace the trail back to Tibb Cave, camping by the river
Trek back to Tilad Do via Gyalpo and drive to Leh. Overnight in hotel.
