Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions, answered. Find everything you need to know to plan your trip.

The ideal time to visit Ladakh for road trips and trekking is during the summer months, from late May to early September. During this period, the weather is pleasant, and the high-altitude passes are open, allowing access to stunning areas like Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake.

For adventure seekers interested in the Chadar Trek (frozen river), the winter months of January and February are the only time to go, but be prepared for extreme cold.

Acclimatization is crucial due to Ladakh's high altitude. We strongly recommend the following:

  • Rest completely for the first 24-48 hours after arriving in Leh (11,500 ft).
  • Drink plenty of water (at least 3-4 liters daily).
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking, and heavy meals for the first few days.
  • Walk at a slow, relaxed pace and avoid overexertion.
  • Consult your doctor about preventive medication like Diamox before your trip. Our guides are also trained to handle AMS emergencies.

Layering is key! Even in summer, temperatures can drop suddenly. We recommend packing:

  • Warm jackets (fleece and a down/padded jacket).
  • Thermals and woolen sweaters.
  • Comfortable trekking shoes with good grip.
  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+), sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.
  • A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste.
  • Basic first-aid kit with your personal medications.
  • Moisturizer and lip balm to combat the dry air.

Mobile connectivity is limited. In Leh, postpaid connections from Jio, Airtel, and BSNL work reasonably well. Prepaid SIMs from outside Ladakh often do not work.

Internet access is available in most hotels and cafes in Leh but can be slow and unreliable. In remote areas like Nubra Valley, Pangong, and during treks, expect little to no connectivity. It's a great opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the nature!

Yes, an Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for Indian tourists to visit protected areas like Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, and Tso Moriri. For foreign nationals, a Protected Area Permit (PAP) is needed.
